With a wider, lower-profile, round head to those of carriage bolts, step bolts are used as steps on steel communication and electrical transmission towers.
STEP BOLT DIMENSIONS
Step bolts come in 5/8″ diameter and 3/4″ diameter and are manufactured to ASTM specification A449.
